Exploring the Blazer RS EV: Comfort, Power, and the Realities of Charging

By: Jared Dutcher
I drove the Blazer RS EV for a week and personally really enjoyed it—here’s why.
First off, it’s incredibly comfortable and spacious. The instant torque makes it a blast to drive, with quick acceleration that’s just fun! It also has a sharp, sleek design, and the interior is impressive with a
17.7-inch customizable infotainment touchscreen and a digital driver display.
Now, let’s dive into range and charging based on my experience.
I’d probably be the ideal EV owner since I don’t have a long commute—I live about 10 miles from the dealership. With a full charge, I had about 280 miles of range. On one of my days off, I decided to take a road trip from Hanover to the Lake Wisconsin area, cruising on backroads and hills to test out the range. The ride was smooth and handled really well. By the time I left Lake Wisconsin, I had around 80 miles of range left. The EV’s built-in Google system tracks your driving and can tell you when and where to charge, even showing the cost. On the way back, it directed me to a fast charger in Madison, where I charged for about 50 minutes and gained around 179 miles of range, costing me about $14. Then, I headed home with plenty of range to spare.
My only real complaint is the wait time for charging. But many grocery stores and restaurants offer free charging while you eat or shop, which makes it more convenient. Home charging is ideal if you can set it up—it’s great to just plug in overnight and be ready for a full day of driving. Also, a standout feature on EVs is one-pedal driving. It helps you recoup range and use the brakes less, which is a big plus.
As an EV Sales Specialist here at the dealership, I’d be happy to answer any questions and help however I can!
